In case you haven’t seen the hashtag #GivingTuesday on social media, the Thanksgiving holidays aren’t over just yet! Our shopping is done (for now), the deals have been snagged, and now all we should do is just enjoy our nice new things for ourselves, right? Not so fast! Giving Tuesday was actually prompted in part by the United Nations as an effort to encourage charitable giving and volunteerism while spirits are still high from Black Friday and Cyber Monday. Exchanging gifts with loved ones is important, but charitable causes also deserve our attention this holiday season. Our communities serve us, connect us with others, and give us a place to belong, but we don’t always think about what we can give in return. Change the Outcome uses its nonprofit platform to support Minnesota communities across the state, and your donation will help us reach more students who may not be receiving the opioid, substance use, and mental health education that they need. Donations enable us to send relatable young adults to schools who are able to connect with students on a deeper level than teachers often can.
