This month America recognizes minorities and their mental health. It is something that holds deep relevance to us this year given the current events of our time. There are countless important and unique ethnic populations in America who have needs that often go ignored by our social systems. They become marginalized, or pushed to the margins of society, in favor of tackling the needs of larger groups. Things like culturally competent healthcare providers, which can be so crucial for addressing mental health, are not prioritized as a result. This month, we encourage open conversations about mental health and addiction, particularly in communities that are silenced or ignored. Together we can work towards a world where everyone, regardless of their race or background, has access to the healthcare resources they need.
July is Minority Mental Health Awareness Month
