Steve’s Law is Minnesota’s good samaritan law, which was created to protect someone from legal consequences if they were to call 911 in the event of an overdose or medical emergency. The law was designed to make people more likely to call an ambulance, even if they are engaging in illegal activity. As of August 2024, the law has been expanded to protect not only the caller and the person overdosing, but anyone else present who remains on scene as well.
