On August 23rd, Change the Outcome team members Megan Wagner and Hanna Kazempour were interviewed at the Minnesota State Fair by reporter Reid Forgrave at the Minnesota Star Tribune stage. The interview titled “Hope Through Education: Youth and the Fight Against Fentanyl” explored the history of the opioid epidemic in the United States and the critical role young people play in addressing the current fentanyl crisis.
During the conversation, Megan and Hanna emphasized the power of education in preventing substance misuse. Instead of using fear-based tactics, they explained that empowering youth with accurate, and compassionate information helps them make informed decisions. By focusing on education, Change the Outcome aims to shift the narrative around substance use and foster open conversations among young people and their communities. Special thank you to Reid Forgrave and the Minnesota Star Tribune for allowing us the opportunity to share our message with fairgoers.
